Daredevil Baseball

The Daredevil Baseball team may have played it’s last game this past summer.  The team may not return for the 2012 season.

Watching an Outer Banks Daredevils baseball game is baseball at its finest. This collegiate team plays at the First Flight Middle School in Kill Devil Hills during the summer months and provides a night of entertainment for the whole family. The players are very friendly and the concession stand is great.

In the Outer Banks family friendly community of Kill Devil Hills there are lots of things to do together cost free, tennis, bicycling or playing at the play ground are just a few ways to entertain the kids if you need to take a break from the beach in the Outer Banks.

Tennis

There are two public tennis courts in KDH .  One is located on the Bypass MP 6 by the Kill Devil Hills Fire Department and the other located off the Bypass MP8.5 .Turn onto Colington Rd and make a left onto Mustian Street at the County Family Recreation Park near the Kill Devil Hills Water Plant.

In Kill Devil Hills Virginia Dare Trail Road is also referred to as Beach Road, NC-12 or Highway 12.

Biking

There are many bike rental outfitters within a few blocks of your rental home or condominium in Kill Devil Hills. Whether you bring or rent your bike you will have plenty of opportunities to use them in the Outer Banks. Paved bike paths are accessible in most towns and can connect you from one town to another.  In Kill Devil Hills the path begins at West First Street and follows Colington Road which is near the Wright Brothers National Memorial and continues east to the Beach Road. Most portions of Beach Road aka Virginia Dare Trail aka NC-12 in Kill Devil Hills have 6 foot wide paved shoulders designated for cyclists. For 6 miles cyclists can enjoy a wide paved path along the beach road from Kill Devil Hills to Nags Head with a rest stop conveniently located in the middle at Ocean Bay Boulevard public bath house across from Stop & Shop MP 8.

Shelling

Hunt for treasures from the sea right outside your oceanfront Outer Banks home or condominium. A morning walk with your early risers is the perfect time for shelling and beach combing and an inexpensive way to take home souvenirs. After a storm or high tide are also great times to look for ocean gems.
